our services
Our service is basically to introduce those who need temporary space and those who have empty space in the Seattle area. The partnerships created between these two groups will benefit both as well as the community.
Empty storefronts and buildings do not benefit anyone, not the property owner, not the community, not even potential tenants and investors. Experiencing a space tastefully furnished, merchandised, and full of people is far more attractive than a dusty, often unkempt space, poorly lit, and empty. This is exactly why homes are staged to make them more attractive to potential buyers and tenants.
Empty storefronts and buildings invite vandals, and graffiti. Empty spaces cost property owners in utilities, insurance, and upkeep. UrbaNomads cover all these costs and even work toward basic improvements and maintenance. This is only one of the benefits to property owners, however, as the attention to the space, and the utilization spurs more interest in the property.
The idea behind UrbaNomads in Seattle is aimed at enabling entrepreneurs, artists, performers, entertainers, and those with awesome stuff for sale, to set up in an empty storefront or building and sponsor events, and open days of the week where people can come by, watch a performance, taste wine, listen to music, purchase items for sale, and visit the space to determine if they want to lease, purchase, or invest in it.
how are we going to do it?
We are planning a marketing campaign to create awareness of our project, gain support and cooperation, and encourage others to join us. UrbaNomads is intended to be a community project and involve as many people and groups as possible. One of the first things we are doing is to establish a list of the available properties and management companies, commercial realtors, investment groups, and private property owners.
We also have a large list of businesses that deal with overstocks, close out merchandise, seasonal products, as well as furniture and furnishings. We also are compiling a list of stores going out of business that will have inventory to sell. At the present time we have complete office furniture suites as well as dozens of unique and artistic products to merchandise any size space.
The purpose is to occupy and furnish the space which is currently unused, improve the space to some degree, provide insurance coverage and utilities, and otherwise care for the empty space until it is leased or purchased. The interest generated, the open hours, and the uniqueness of the project will inevitably increase the chances of a lease agreement.
The UrbaNomads will then move their whole operation to new digs and start the process all over again.
